IPL Mini-Auction 2023: All you need to know Players, Slots, Purse, Live Streaming, Squads

Before the cash-rich extravaganza gets underway in April, ten franchises will battle it out on the table, which could decide the fate of many. 

Around 405 players will be on display, out of which 132 will be overseas making it a global affair. 87 spots to be filled in total with as many as 30 overseas players required to fill the roster, will keep the brains thinking.

How many teams this year?

10 IPL teams namely Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders like last year will be taking the field this year as well.

What will be the format of the auction?

The auction will be a one-day affair with players divided into specialized sets and base prices set at 2 Crore, 1.5 Crore, 1 Crore, 75 Lakhs, 50 Lakhs, 40 Lakhs, 30 Lakhs and 20 Lakhs. 87 players will first come up in sets and the rest of the players will feature in accelerated rounds. 

When will the auction happen?

The auction will take place on 23rd December i.e Friday, beginning at 2:30 PM IST and could be ending around 9:30 PM IST.

Where will the auction happen?

Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi, Kerala will host the auction for the most-watched cricket league in the world.

Where can we watch it live?

The event will be telecasted live on the Star Sports Network whereas the JioCinema app and website will stream it free for all users.

Hugh Edmeades, who due to some complications fainted during the auction last year has been retained.
