In what could be an encouraging sign for the Melbourne Renegades, their marquee player Shaun Marsh could be back on the field in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23.

Marsh is eyeing a comeback against the Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday after missing their first-three BBL 12 matches due to a calf injury.

The left-handed batter, speaking to Channel 7 yesterday, revealed how his injury is healing.

Here's what Marsh said

"Hopefully (I'll be playing) the next game. (The) body is starting to feel good. It's good to be back with the guys again and be amongst it. The calf is feeling good, which is the main thing. Bit of training yesterday, bit more tomorrow and then hopefully right for Saturday's game."

An all-format player for Australia, Marsh scored 202 runs in the last edition of the BBL and is the sixth-highest (2,398) run-scorer in the tournament's history.

The Nic Maddinson-led Renegades are unbeaten in the competition, placed second in the points table.

Despite the wins, the Renegades' top order has found it tough to get going, and Marsh's inclusion could strengthen their lineup considerably.
