In a major rejig of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), former chairman Najam Sethi is back at the helm of affairs after Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif approved the removal of outgoing chief Ramiz Raja. Sethi will be joined by the likes of former cricketers Haroon Rashid, Shahid Afridi and Sana Mir on the new 14-member committee.

Raja, who took over from Ehsan Mani in September 2021, had a rather controversial stint. The relationship between PCB and BCCI also ended up taking a sour turn, after the former cricketer's constant jibes at the IPL on multiple occasions.

The PCB will have formal elections within four months. Sethi took to the social media site Twitter to confirm the same and promised massive changes to their domestic system for the betterment of cricket.

"The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja @iramizraja is no more. The 2014 PCB constitution stands restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The famine in cricket will come to an end,"

Sethi was influential in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan after a long hiatus and also started the Pakistan Super League.
