One of the most devastating T20 batters, Evin Lewis will be in action during the first edition of the cash-rich International League T20 starting next month. Lewis, signed by Sharjah Warriors, will take the field alongside Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, and Mohammad Nabi.

Lewis - who has vast experience playing in franchise cricket with teams like Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Comilla Victorians, and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots - explained how leagues are beneficial for cricketers.

In an interview with News 18, the West Indies opener expressed his excitement about playing in ILT20 and mixing with international stars.

"To be honest, I am very excited. I have played against these guys in the international circuit but have never shared the same dressing room.

"The league is always beneficial. More cricket is actually better as a cricketer. The most important thing is what you look to take from these leagues. You try not to put too much pressure on yourself when you play international cricket."

In 209 T20s, the 30-year-old has scored 5,766 runs with five hundred and 39 half-centuries.

Speaking of his own batting, the IPL dashing player said that he looks forward to where his career leads going forward.

"Age brings a bit more experience. I am 30 at the moment, 31 next week. So yeah I am actually looking forward to it."

The ILT20 2023 takes place between January 13 and February 12.
