Ramiz Raja removed, Najam Sethi to be appointed as new PCB Chairman

In the latest breaking news, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja has been removed from his position, while former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi is the front runner to be appointed as the successor of Raja. 

As per Times of Pakistan, the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) has sent the summary of removal of the PCB Chairman, and has already proposed the new replacement in Sethi.

As per reports in Pakistan media, the board had an internal meeting on Tuesday, after which they proposed Raja’s removal and appointment of the new chief. 

"After the PCB meeting, IPC sent a summary to the Prime Minister's Office to include the names of Najam Sethi and Shakil Sheikh as new PCB Governing Board members in place of Asad Ali Khan and Ramiz Raja," the report mentioned. 

Notably, Raja was appointed as the PCB Chairman last year in September, during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister of the country. 

Sethi, 74, has served twice as the Chairperson of the PCB, but his stints were cut short due to controversies.
