Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming and other members of CSK's coaching staff are set to miss the upcoming IPL Auction in Kochi on December 23.

In a major development before the mini-auction, the Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that the entire support staff of the Yellow army will not be coming to Kochi for the auction due to the festive duties back home. Instead, they would be joining via video conferencing.

It is pertinent to mention that the BCCI has allowed video conferencing for the auction, which means foreign staff could join their respective teams.

“No, Stephen Fleming won’t be joining us for the auction. None of our foreign staff will be present in Kochi due to Christmas Celebrations. They will join by video conference,”  CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told InsideSport.

CSK had a season to forget in the previous edition of the IPL where they finished the league in the penultimate position. It was only the second time in the history of the league that CSK failed to reach the playoffs. The MS Dhoni-led team will be participating in the mini-auction with Rs 20.45 crore left in the purse.

The IPL mini-auction is all set to take place in Kochi on December 23rd.
