In an interesting fact, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are the only Indian cricketers to hit a ton in the Test and ODI hundreds respectively this year.

Gill has been a permanent member of the Indian Test team for the last few years. Since making his debut in December 2020, the youngster has garnered 709 runs in 23 innings at an average of 30.47, with four fifties and a solitary century.

The top-order batter could only score 20 in the first innings of the ongoing Test fixture against Bangladesh. However, Gill converted his starts into a big score in the second innings, wherein he slammed 110 off 152 balls. His imperious knock helped India to set up a target of 513 for the Tigers.

On the other hand, Pant is doing exceptionally well in red-ball cricket but has been average in limited-overs. Recently, the 24-year-old asked to be released from the ODI series against Bangladesh.

Nevertheless, the southpaw scored a scintillating knock of 125* off 113 balls against England in July at Manchester. Pant's superlative innings paved the way to seal the series 2-1 for the Mne in Blue.

The talented keeper did well to garner 46 off 45 in the first innings and made sure the team gets their confidence back to post 404 in the 1st Test against Bangladesh.
