'Shaw is not even around'- Ajay Jadeja warns Shubman Gill after maiden Test ton

On Friday, promising Indian batter Shubman Gill accomplished his debut Test ton. Opening the batting, Gill hammered a fabulous 152-ball 110, helping India set a massive 513-run target for hosts Bangladesh in the first Test in Chattogram.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja believes that merely scoring a century won't help Gill; instead he needs to maintain his consistency.

Jadeja, who represented India in more than 200 international matches, cited the example of Prithvi Shaw, who, despite slamming a ton on his Test debut, faded away due to inconsistency.

Therefore, the 51-year-old expected Gill to live up to the expectations, converting his starts to daddy hundreds frequently.

Here's what Jadeja stated

"I hope his wagon will only move ahead from here because this guy has shown that he is not one of those who have gone back after scoring one. Prithvi Shaw is also his age group, he scored a century in his first Test but he is not even around at the moment. So just like that wagon has gone back, this wagon is steadily moving ahead."

Regarding the game, Bangladesh are fighting, placed at 83 for no loss as of writing the report.
