USA Cricket have announced a 15-member Women's Under-19 squad for the inaugural ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023. The squad, led by all-rounder Geetika Kodali, will continue to be coached by former West Indies legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

The latest inductee in the ICC Hall of Fame, Chanderpaul's term has been extended until the marquee event that will take place in South Africa next month between January 14 and 29, across two venues — Benoni and Potchefstroom.

Wicket-keeper Anika Kolan has been named as Kodali's deputy. 16-year-old Taranum Chorpa is the only new player added to the squad that played against UAE in their recent series.

The USA are in Group A alongside Australia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The Chanderpaul-coached side will begin their campaign on January 14 against Sri Lanka at Willowmoore Park.

Here's what Chanderpaul said about USA's chances

"We showed throughout the year the kind of cricket that we can play.

World Cups are incredibly special and we are really looking forward to representing the country on this fantastic platform.”
