Day 8 of the Lanka Premier League 2022 on December 14 will see an exciting T20 action continue at Pallekele. Here's the preview of both fixtures of Sri Lanka's homegrown T20 league. 

Match 13: Jaffna Kings vs Kandy Falcons

Jaffna Kings will clash with Kandy Falcons in Match 13 of LPL 2022. Kings are in the second position with four wins in five league matches. They fall short in terms of net run-rate as opposed to Falcons. who have also same wins.  Both teams will look to continue the same momentum. 

Key Players

  • Sadeera Samarawickrama is the top run-getter for Kings with 146 runs at an average of 73 and a strike rate of 141.74. 


  • The batter with solid technique and composed presence, Pathum Nissanka has amassed 177 runs in five innings. 

Prediction

The Kings possess quality batters which posted the highest total of 240 in the 2022 edition. They are well-balanced in terms of bowling options and are expected to prevail over Falcons in this contest. 

Match 14: Colombo Stars vs Dambulla Aura

Colombo Stars will face the challenge of Dambulla Aura in the second match on Wednesday.  Stars are coming into this game with a terrific victory by two wickets against Galle Gladiators. They have two wins in four appearances. On the other hand, Dambulla have secured no victories in four league matches. 

Key Players

  • Shevon Daniel has set up the platform well for Dambulla and has 85 runs in four outings.  
  • The experienced Dinesh Chandimal hit 63 off 33 in the last game. He has 136 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 147.82. 

Prediction

Stars will be confident ahead of this game after a thrilling victory in their last league match, and are likely to continue their winning momentum. However, they will have to deliver with the ball against a clueless Dambulla team.
