In a significant development, experienced Australian speedster Kane Richardson has joined Kent for the entire season of the Vitality T20 Blast 2023.

Thus, Richardson, who pulled out from his Derbyshire stint due to a World Cup call-up in 2019, is set to be off the mark in County Cricket.

In his reaction, Richardson expressed his delight at joining Kent and expected himself to contribute to the team's success.

Here's what he said

"Kent have a great T20 pedigree and I'm looking forward to the challenge of performing in the Vitality Blast for the first time,

"I know the club has won both English white-ball titles in the last two years and it'll be my job to help us continue this hot run of form in 2023."

Meanwhile, Kent Director of cricket Paul Downton hailed the Australian for his skills and experience.

"We're really excited to have Kane join us for the whole T20 competition this year. He's an established international bowler who will bring a vast amount of experience to the club. His skill set is up there with the best and he will be an invaluable source of information to our young and developing seamers."

Richardson has a plethora of experience in the shortest format, having played in T20 leagues around the world.

Overall, he has scalped 200 wickets, including six four-wicket hauls in 154 T20 appearances. Furthermore, he has been a vital cog in Australia's T20I setup, claiming 44 wickets in 35 outings. So, his inclusion is a massive boost to Kent's bowling unit.
