In what could be a massive setback for Adelaide Strikers, ace spinner Cameron Boyce has been ruled out of their first match against Sydney Sixers

In a training session, Boyce sustained a calf injury, which has sidelined him from the face-off.

Mr John Porter, SACA Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager, updated on Boyce's injury and said,

"Cameron sustained a right calf strain at training and has commenced rehab, including low intensity running. His return to play time frame will become clearer as he progresses this week."

On the other hand, the Strikers' head coach Jason Gillespie also expressed his disappointment and expected Boyce to recover quickly.

"We are absolutely gutted for Cam and we will do everything we can to support him and hopefully get him back out onto the field as soon as possible. No doubt Cam will still have a big impact on the group off the field during this period."

The Strikers will take on Sydney Sixers in their first BBL 12 encounter in Adelaide on December 14.
