Moises Henriques, the Sixers' skipper expressed his joyousness over Smith's comeback mentioning that the door is always open.

"Steve Smith is a Sixer. He has been part of this club from the start, and he will be part of this club for as long as he wants to be. He has always known that the door is open to him playing with us again."

The experienced batter will be returning to the league after a hiatus of almost 2 years where he last donned the magenta jersey in 2020 for four matches scoring 120 runs with one half-century.
