Even after a scintillating performance in the third ODI, India lost the series 2-1 against Bangladesh mainly due to the fabulous show by all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz turning the tables in his side's favour.

Miraz's blistering century in the second game and last wicket partnership in the first sealed the series for the hosts. After receiving player of the series award, the 25-year-old praised the seniors for backing him throughout which helped him achieve the desired result.

The Khulna-born said he was quite satisfied as any Indian side they have played against have been quite strong so winning against them is a big deal. Also, he added that as a unit they would want to put on a good show in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

"I am happy because this is the first time I have won the man of the series award in an ODI series so its a great moment for me. India is a very good side in any format. We are playing very well in the last 2 years especially in ODIs and we do have many experienced players in our team. We have a World Cup coming up and hopefully we can do better in the coming year.

"The seniors are supporting us. They give us confidence and teach how we can get better in different situations and conditions."

India and Bangladesh will next lock horns in a two-match Test series beginning on 14th of December.
