What caused tremors in the Chennai Super Kings camp last year, might be coming back again to haunt them. The captaincy debate might be opening anytime soon with long time standing skipper MS Dhoni already in the twilight of his career.

Ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed as the captain mid-season after a series of losses resulting them to crash out of the tournament early. His removal caused bad-blood between him and the franchise, which even led to rumours of him ending his association.

However, he decided to continue with the side giving fans a sigh of relief. Now, one of the CSK official opened up on the plans to find a successor for Dhoni.

According to the source, Jadeja is not in the scheme of things as they might be looking at someone from the auction to lead them in future. Further, the decision will rest with MS on whom he chooses to lead with Ruturaj Gaikwad being the prime contender.

“As far as CSK captaincy is concerned, MS will take a call after a discussion with the team management. We also have an auction coming up and we will keep our options open for a possible candidate. As things stand, Jadeja is not in plans for future captaincy. But things can change later.”

CSK will go with some big names in mind when they sit on the auction table on 23rd December in Kochi.
