India and Bangladesh faced off in the third and final match of the ODI series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. As far as the scenario of the series is concerned, this match did not have much importance as the hosts had already sealed the deal after winning the first two matches.

After losing two close matches and giving up the series to the hosts, this match was a pride protection affair for India. India were forced to make a change at the top of their batting order as Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the fixture due to his thumb injury. Ishan Kishan replaced

him in the playing XI and opened the innings for the 'Men in Blue' after Litton Das won the toss and invited India to bat first.

India were given a jolt early in the innings as Shikhar Dhawan was sent back to the pavilion in the fifth over of the innings, with the team's score at 15. Virat Kohli joined the young left hander in the middle and the two steadied the Indian ship.

Ishan Kishan finished with a score of 210 runs from 131 balls. But as the numbers suggest it was not all power-hitting by the southpaw. Ishan Kishan planned and executed a perfect ODI and a deeper analytical dive into the innings will give us a better idea about the young man's temperament.

Observation

Kishan took about 60 deliveries to get himself acquainted with the pitch and how it is behaving. He was going at about run a ball around this stage of his innings. After this he started to increase his scoring rate gradually and reached his century of the 85th ball of his innings.

After this Ishan brought down the hell on the bowlers of the host side. In the next 46 deliveries the youngster scored 113 runs at a strike rate of 245.65. While the pitch was quite flat but the dip in the scoring rate and the bunch of wickets that fell for India after Kishan's departure shows that spending those initial moments in the middle was very important.

Planning against the bowlers

Not only did Ishan Kishan plan his innings in terms of the pace he went at, Ishan also identified the bowler he could take on and went on with his plan very smoothly.

He went particularly hard against Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The plan on his part was not let the two bowlers settle down and executed this plan to perfection.

Observation

We see that Ishan Kishan had a brilliant strike rate against both the bowlers. But in the beginning of his knock he was sensible enough to play them out watchfully. Once, Kishan got an idea of what the two bowlers are doing, he went berserk and tore apart the bowlers.

Conclusion

The stage at which Ishan Kishan departed, India should have gone well past 450, but his departure slowed down the scoring rate and India ended up scoring 409 runs in their 50 overs. But the explosive knock from Ishan Kishan have definitely given India an option to explore before the next ODI World Cup.
