West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph achieved a personal milestone on Day 2 of the ongoing Test match against Australia in Adelaide.

Joseph, with the wicket of Cameron Green, went past Nepal's Sandeep Lamichane's tally of 66 wickets to become the highest wicket-taker in 2022.

The 26-year-old equaled Lamichane's tally late on Day 1 with the wicket of Australian opener David Warner. Today, the right-arm seamer achieved this mark in 34 matches in contrast to Lamichhane's 32.

In 17 ODIs in 2022, the lanky fast bowler has 27 wickets. While in 10 T20Is, the Antigua-born has 16 wickets.

Interestingly, Joseph remained wicketless in the first Test, which West Indies lost by 164 runs.

New Zealand's Tim Southee comes a close third with 62 wickets, while Oman's Bilal Khan and Trent Boult occupy the fourth and fifth spot with 58 and 55 wickets, respectively.

Talking about the Frank Worrell Trophy 2022, Australia holds an unassailable 1-0 lead and have declared their first innings in the day/night Test at 511 for 7.

In reply, Windies are 13 for 0 as of writing this report.
