Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a strong 17-member squad to face the second-ranked Indian team in the two-match Test series. Shakib Al Hasan, who was named the Test skipper earlier in the year, will be leading Bangladesh in what will be his second series as captain in this tenure.

Mushfiqur Rahim has been recalled to the Test squad to bring in his experience against a heavyweight Indian lineup. Statistically, the 35-year-old loves playing against the neighbours, especially in the longest format, where he averages over 50 with two centuries and two half-centuries.

Meanwhile, another experienced player Tamim Iqbal has been kept out of the squad. However, the star opener was ruled out of the ODIs and now has to miss out on the Tests as well.

In other notable inclusions, Yasir Ali and Taskin Ahmed have been recalled in the Test setup. Zakir Hasan, on the other hand, has earned his maiden call-up in the longest format after notching 173 & 118* (at the time of writing) against India-A.
