India faced a hard-fought loss by 5 runs against the Bangladesh side where skipper Rohit Sharma came out to bat in a failed effort despite having stitches in his hand. His audacious attempt caused turbulence in the opposition camp which ensured India stayed in the game till the end.

However, with him, Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen already ruled out of the series, there are some serious injury issues. Along with these three, mainstays Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah have been out for quite some time.

Now, post-match skipper expressed his worries regarding the same mentioning that they need to find the root cause of it. Also, he asserted that workload needs to be looked upon to ensure they don't play way too many matches.

Further, the 35-year-old was cautious of the side not being fully fit while participating in international matches which will be taken care of when the discussions move to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

"Honestly, it was not too great. Bit of dislocation in the finger and some stitches. Luckily, it was not a fracture, and that is why I could come and bat.

"Yeah, there are definitely a few injury concerns. We need to get to the bottom of it. We need to look at it why the players are getting injured so much. Is it because they are playing too many matches? We need to sit in NCA and monitor their workload. We cannot afford the guys being half-fit and representing the country. We need to find the bottom cause of it and fix it."

India will be playing the final ODI against Bangladesh on 10th December in a dead rubber before both sides face off in a two-match Test series.
