Mohammad Rizwan expressed his optimism for Pakistan to produce a fightback in the second fixture of the ongoing Test series against England.

The first Test match witnessed England continuing their bazball approach to stun Pakistan on Day 1. With the Rawalpindi pitch offering no support to the bowlers, the Three Lions became the first team in red-ball history to score 500 runs in a single day.

England managed to accumulate a mammoth total of 657 runs in a matter of 101 overs. In response, Pakistan did decent enough to finish on 579 and hand a lead of 78 runs to the visitors.

The Ben Stokes-led side didn't bog down and scored at a much faster pace while declaring 264/7 in less than 36 overs. They set an example of confidence in their abilities to give four sessions to Pakistan for chasing a target of 343.

Although Pakistan displayed resistance, the pair of James Anderson and Ollie Robinson were in sublime form to take four wickets each and secure a 78-run win for England.

Rizwan, who went past 5000 international runs in the 1st Test took to Twitter to praise England for their terrific win. He also posted a message to the Pakistan fans of the team making a strong comeback.

England and Pakistan will face each other in the 2nd Test match of the series from December 9 at Multan. It will be interesting to see the approach of both teams on a different surface.
