One of the most successful T20 coaches going around on the circuit is former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene

Jayawardene's laurels consist of winning three (2017, 2019, and 2020) Indian Premier League (IPL) titles with Mumbai Indians and the inaugural The Hundred 2021 trophy with Southern Brave.

However, reports suggest that Jayawardene could be on his way out as head coach of Brave following his promotion to the role of global head of performance in the MI set-up.

MI recently purchased franchises in ILT20 and SA20, after which Jayawardene stepped down as coach of MI coach and took over a more global position within the ecosystem. Former South Africa player and coach Mark Boucher will replace Jayawardene as MI's head coach for IPL 2023.

According to reports, Jayawardene is yet to formally announce his departure from the Brave but has been in talks with management over virtual meetings and the club is already searching for alternatives.

The defending champions finished a lowly seventh in the last edition, where the team was hampered by a string of injuries to key players.
