When defending champions Jaffna Kings led by Thisara Perera will be up against Kusal Mendis' Galle Gladiators who are no short of power. While the Kings boast Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Rahmunullah Gurbaz, Shoaib Malik, Maheesh Theekshana and Tristan Stubbs, their counterparts are lit with Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Kusal Perera and Mohammad Hafeez.

Key Players

  • Tom Kohler-Cadmore looked impressive in the recently concluded T10 League where he thumped 289 runs at a strike rate of 192.
  • Iftikhar Ahmed was in red-form during the tournament where smashed three half-centuries from five innings in the shortest format.

Angelo Mathews, the skipper of Colombo would be keen to prove his side's worth when they take on Wanindu Hasaranga's Kandy Falcons. While the Colombo Stars won't be short of quality batters, the Falcons, on the other hand, are much more packed with skilled bowlers. In the last season, the Stars lost their eliminator match whereas Kandy could not move past the group stage.

Key Players

  • Karim Janat was imperative for his side Morrisville Samp Army where he contributed with both bat and ball smashing 163 runs and scalping 8 wickets.
  • Skipper Wanindu Hasaranga will be the key to his team's chances as his world-class skills will be on display.

The team that possesses a stronger bowling line-up will be the favourites as in this case, it is Kandy. With Fabian Allen, Isuru Udana, Matheesha Pathirana and Hasaranga himself, the Falcons should triumph in this encounter.
