Hardik Pandya can be very dangerous in T10 cricket: Mushtaq Ahmed

Hardik Pandya's stocks have risen ever since India's premier all-rounder guided the Gujarat Titans franchise to their maiden Indian Premier League title last season.

Pandya, known for his explosive batting and attacking bowling, had a stupendous 2022 for India with both bat and ball that witnessed him leading India in T20Is in Ireland, and New Zealand. 

An all-rounder as a commodity in cricket is highly valued, given their chances of success in one department, and with the advent of the T10 format, they have become even more in demand. 

Former Pakistan leg-spinner and current coach of Deccan Gladiators Mushtaq Ahmed, who guided his team to a second successive Abu Dhabi T10 title last evening, talked about Pandya's ability in the shortest format.

"In such short formats, Hardik Pandya can be a very dangerous player, even someone like David Wiese, they can bat, bowl and field. These are players who can be match-winners."

Ahmed also expanded upon whether players like Virat Kohli will succeed in T10 or not, when asked about the former India captain.

"Both types of players can succeed in T10 cricket. An example is Moeen Ali, who plays good cricketing shots. The roles should be clear. Nicholas Pooran hit a flurry of boundaries and then brought the momentum back. The most important thing is to have a clear idea of who has to do what."
