Shakib Al Hasan demolished the Indian batting order to become the first Bangladesh spinner to notch up a sensational five-wicket haul against the Men in Blue in the first ODI in Dhaka on Sunday, December 4.

Shakib dismissed Indian captain Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli in his first over before coming back to churn out three quick wickets in Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar to wreck the Indian batting order completely.

Shakib conceded just 36 runs while picking five wickets in his 10 overs quota, which marks the best bowling figures by a Bangladesh spinner in One-day internationals against Men in Blue.

Not just this, the star all-rounder added another feather to his already bulky cap as he became only the 8th spinner in the history of One-day internationals to bag a five-wicket haul against India.

The likes of Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Muttiah Muralidaran, Ashley Giles, Ajantha Mendis, Saeed Ajmal, and Akila Dhananjaya have five-wicket hauls against India in ODIs with Shakib Al Hasan being the latest addition to this elite spinners list.

Apart from Shakib, the right-arm quick Ebadot Hossain also bagged a four-wicket haul as Rohit Sharma-led team India bundled out for just 186 runs in 41.2 overs with KL Rahul (73) being the only half-centurion in the team.
