Abu Dhabi T10 2022 | Day 10 Round-up

The Abu Dhabi T10 2022 league stage came to an end on Friday (December 2). Here's a brief report of all the exciting matches that transpired at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. 


Match 26: Delhi Bulls vs Chennai Braves

Opting to bat first, Delhi Bulls lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz (12) cheaply again. The experienced Rilee Rossouw looked in sublime touch with consecutive sixes, before getting dismissed on 26 off 13. 

Tom Banton was impressive with his ball-striking abilities to slam 35 off 17. Afterwards, Tim David (22) and Najibullah Zadran (13) were the contributors as the Bulls posted 119. 

In response, Daniel Lawrence (45) provided a flying start to the Braves, but Carlos Brathwaite (4) and Sikandar Raza (7) could get into their groove. Muhammad Taimoor cleaned up the middle order with four scalps to help the Bulls win by 31 runs.

Match  27: Northern Warriors vs Morrisville Samp Army

Northern Warriors decision to bat first certainly backfired, as they were 22/4, and had lost Adam Lyth and Rovman Powell early. 

It took an impressive knock of 54 off 25 from Adam Hose and support from Sherfane Rutherford (30) to pave way for Warriors to put up 117 on the board. Karim Janat and Dwaine Pretorius picked two wickets apiece for Samp Army. 

Then, Janat hit 25 off 12 to give Samp Army a quality start at the office. The southpaw, Shimron Hetmyer slammed 45 off 18 to put the team on the driving seat. In the end, Chamika Karunratne was terrific with a knock of 22* off 8, and seal the chase with nine balls to spare. 

Northern Warriors - 117/7 (10)

Morrisville Samp Army - 119/5 (8.3)

Result: Morrisville Samp Army won by 5 wickets


Match 28: Team Abu Dhabi vs New York Strikers

Invited to bat first, Team Abu Dhabi's finest batter Chris Lynn (6) failed to score enough. Other experienced campaigners like Alex Hales (17) and James Vince (14) could convert their starts into big innings. 


The remaining batting unit fell to the brilliance of Rashid Khan and Wahab Riaz, as Team Abu Dhabi managed to post only 78 on the board. 

Strikers opener Paul Stirling again failed and was dismissed for a duck. The talented local player Muhammad Waseem slammed 45 off 20, while Eoin Morgan contributed 15 as Strikers sealed the game with more than two overs to spare. With this victory, they topped the points table.
