Sri Lanka's ace bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been found to breach the Level 1 ICC Code of Conduct during the third and final ODI against Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Hasaranga was guilty to violate the Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. It relates to 'showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision during an International Match.'

Najibullah Zadran was given out by the on-field umpire off Hasaranga's third over. However, the third umpire overturned the decision in favour of Zadran.  Not impressed by the decision, the spinner pointed at the giant screen in a chat with the umpire.

Following this development, the 25-year-old received one demerit point and penalty of 50% of match fees as well.

Surviving an LBW call, Zadran went on to score 77 and stitch a 154-run stand with Ibrahim Zadran (162). With the contribution of both batters, Afghanistan posted 313 on the board. Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka with two wickets.

In response, Charith Asalanka (83) and Kusal Mendis (67) helped the Lankan Lions to seal the chase and level the series 1-1. Rashid Khan finished with terrific figures of 4/37 in a losing cause for the visitors.
