With all the excitement building up for inaugural season of the International League T20 (UAE) to be held in January 2023, Sharjah Warriors have asked Moeen Ali to don the skipper's hat.

The English all-rounder will lead along with Paul Farbrace who has been handed over the responsibility of being the head coach of the side.

On his appointment, Moeen was all praise for the franchise that he will be commanding.

"It is a great honour and would be a pleasure to lead Sharjah Warriors. In this format, anybody can beat anybody, and it is important to keep evolving. With the team at our disposal, we can play aggressive, yet sensible cricket and hopefully be in the mix towards the business end of the ILT20."

Beside Farbrace, Glamorgan's Matthew Maynard and Kerala's G Jayakumar have been assigned the duties of batting and bowling coach, respectively.

Further, former Indian fielding coach R Sridhar has been given the position of Director of Cricket with Kshemal Waingankar, a former pacer from Mumbai being the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

ILT20 will feature six teams with as many as three of them owned by IPL franchises, who all will compete between 13th January and 12th February in United Arab Emirates.
