With the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) sudden sacking of India's senior men's selection panel, several former players have come into the foray for a spot to lead the committee.

Former Indian player Hemang Badani, who, as per several reports, applied for a post on the BCCI's selection committee, has rubbished any such claims via a social media post.

Badani, who played 40 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and four Tests between 2000 and 2004 for India, stated that he would like to head the panel later in his career.

Former cricketers like Nayan Mongia, Salil Ankola, Ajit Agarkar, SS Das, and L Sivaramakrishnan are the front-runners for the chief selector's post.

Here's what Badani tweeted

"To all my lovely fans, well-wishers and friends.. Just putting this out here to offer some clarity. As much I deem it a privilege and honour to be a part of the BCCI selection panel, I have not applied for the post as the rounds across various media have been doing. Wishing all the applicants the best."

The 46-year-old has taken on coaching roles in the Indian Premier League, Lanka Premier League, and Tamil Nadu Premier League.
