Kerala in contention to have team in Women's IPL

Finally, the steam for the Women's IPL has started to gather and now the BCCI could come up with the franchise tender anytime soon with five teams up for sale. The current men's IPL sides are expected to put up with name along with some new contenders who could bid a massive amount.

In a considerable development, Kerala's name have come up as a possible contender to own one of those franchises.

Recently, in an interview with Asianet News, Kerala Cricket Association's joint secretary Bineesh Kodiyeri gave the statement about state's plan to introduce a team in Women's extravaganza. The reason for this being they want to improve visibility, opportunities and better reach for female players.

Previously, it was reported that seven out of ten IPL teams are serious about having the team. While the base price could be around ₹400 Crore, the final amount is expected to reach atleast ₹1000 Crores.
