Australia is gearing up to take on visitors West Indies in the upcoming Frank Worrell Trophy, starting November 30. Ahead of the 1st Test in Perth, Australia's best Test batter Steve Smith opened up about his 'grumbly hip injury’ concern.

Smith, 33, injured his hip while training after getting tangled with pso-rite, a device athletes use to train their psoas muscles. Smith is coming off a terrific One-Day International (ODI) series against England, scoring 195 runs at an astounding average of 97.50.

As quoted by The West Australian, Smith brushed aside any worries and declared himself fit for the Windies challenge.

"It was just me being just silly, to be honest. I was hitting myself in the psoas, trying to loosen that up and I got a little low and I hit a little nerve or something. My hip is a little bit grumbly...but all will be fine,"

The Pat Cummins-led side will look to take home the series, and consolidate their place at the top of the ICC Test Championship Table, while West Indies captained by Kraigg Brathwaite will look to improve their position in the table up the order.

The second and final Test will be a Pink-Ball Test in Adelaide beginning December 8.
