Fresh from winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 with England, opener Alex Hales is currently displaying his explosive batting in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League, representing Team Abu Dhabi. Hales, who slammed a match-winning 44 off 25 against the Northern Warriors on Saturday, spoke about playing shorter formats going forward.

Following impressive performances in franchise cricket in different leagues over the few years, the prolific opener made a return to England's T20 side after being dropped ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019, following trust issues with the management.

As per ANI, Hales said that playing only T20 cricket is helpful, and that he is currently at the peak of his career.

"I think just playing T20 definitely helps the body, it is obviously way less time that you are in the field. So, it is a lot earlier on the body and you can play those long stints, months and months on end.

I feel physically fit and really enjoying my cricket at the moment. So, I feel like I am in the peak of my career, so it is going to really enjoyable few months,"

In 15 T20Is in 2022, Hales scored 430 runs at an average of 30.71, while maintaining an impressive strike rate of 145.27.
