NZ vs IND, 2nd ODI: India start strong, but rain stops play

India needed to win the 2nd ODI to level the series, but that mission looks far away as rain has threatened to play the spoilsport.

Rain ruined the T20I series as well, with the first game getting abandoned, while the final T20I ending in a rare tie (on DLS method).

It is pouring down heavily in Hamilton and by the looks of it, even if the game resumes it won't be a 50-over contest as a significant amount of time has been lost due to rain.

Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first on a gloomy day. However, the two Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill have started well. Gill in particular has looked in sublime touch, smashing three gorgeous boundaries and remains unbeaten on 19.

At the time of writing, India are 22-0 at 4.5 overs mark. Spectators will be hoping that rain stops and the play can somehow resume.
