Australia's pace bowling spearhead Mitchell Starc has backed former T20 World Cup-winning coach Justin Langer after the rumours of a rift between the latter and the current Australian setup started to surface.

Previously, Langer stepped down after only being offered a six-month contract extension while he was expecting a longer run. Later, there were reports that senior players of the Kangaroos side refused to back him, which led to controversies running all around.

Recently, the coach came and spoke at length about being let down for whom he mentioned the term 'cowards'. However, after a few days, he clarified that he never meant players, instead holds a good bond with them, who are like his brothers.

Now, one of the crucial members of the setup, Starc, has also cleared his stand. The left-armer with 287 Test wickets expressed that he has been in regular touch with the former batter. Further, he is absolutely comfortable with him and expects to work as part of the commentary panel.

"I have a pretty good relationship with Langer. We exchanged text messages post the (T20) World Cup. I'm pretty comfortable with my relationship with JL.

"Was mentioned that there could be some noise around it obviously being in the west and with JL having a commentary spot. We're comfortable...spend a lot of time together as a three format group. It's all preparation for this Test match. Not too much is going to distract us. I'm sure we'll see (Langer) at the ground and throughout the summer."

Mitchell Starc hold the ball for Australia in the first Test against the West Indies that would be held at Perth Stadium from 30th November.
