Legendary Australia Women's cricketer Nicole Bolton has decided to retire from all forms of cricket. Bolton, 33, has confirmed that the WBBL 2022 final will be her last competitive game on the highest level.

Leah Poulton, Cricket NSW Head of Female Elite Cricket, heaped praise on Bolton for her never-say-die attitude and work ethic.

Here's what Poulton stated

"On-field 'Bolts' will be remembered as one of the all-time great competitors. Tough situations brought out the best in her, while she was at the crease the game was never done,

"She will be remembered as a wonderful team person, always ready for a laugh and someone who set the standard at training with her incredible work ethic."

Bolton made her international debut in 2014. She has represented Australia in 55 matches in an eight-year-long career, scoring 1993 runs across formats. In particular, the southpaw enjoyed batting in the ODIs, amassing 1896 runs at an impressive average of 41.2. Interestingly, she is the first Australian woman to score a century in her ODI debut.

Furthermore, the veteran cricketer has slammed 1844 runs and scalped 53 wickets in her decorated WBBL career. She is representing the Sydney Sixers in the ongoing Women's Big Bash League.
