Chasing 307 for victory, New Zealand hunted the total down within 48 overs in a high-scoring clash at Eden Park, Auckland. Indian team batted well to post 306 but it was Tom Latham and Kane Williamson's masterclass for fourth wicket that propelled the hosts to victory.

Latham smacked a blistering 145 not out causing panic in the opposition camp whereas skipper Williamson sailed the boat with his 94. The duo were classic in their chase as they didn't gave any chance to the Men in Blue.

While batting ever so well and finishing the match for their side, the pair achieved a fabulous milestone on their way. Batting 172 balls, they smacked 221 runs which is the highest partnership for a New Zealand pair against India in one-day cricket.

Previous best was achieved by Ross Taylor and Tom Latham in 2017 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai where they thumped 200 runs for fourth wicket in pursuit of 284 when they were 80/3.

One interesting thing was that Latham was involved in both the partnerships where he was crucial to his side's chances taking them home.

New Zealand and India will next lock horns on 27th November at Hamilton.
