Leading India in New Zealand, skipper Shikhar Dhawan exhibited his class during the first One-Day International (ODI) in Auckland. Dhawan one of India's most consistent ODI players in the recent past achieved another milestone for himself.
The left-handed opener during his knock of 72 runs, also entered an elite list of Indian players who have surpassed 12,000 List-A runs. Thus, Dhawan joins the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and Yuvraj Singh to became the seventh Indian batter to score 12,000+ List-A runs.
In 162 ODIs, Dhawan has scored 6,744 runs since making his debut in 2010.
