Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC) have announced the signing of Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali for the County Championship 2023 and T20 Blast as an overseas signing. Ali played for Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) in his first County season last year, claiming 25 wickets across five First-Class matches.

The pacer will be available until the end of July, before returning home. The 28-year-old Ali lost his regular place in Pakistan's red-and-white-ball sides after a string of poor performances, having last played in the 2022 Asia Cup.

In a club statement, Hasan expressed his delight over playing at Edgbaston.

"I'm delighted to sign for Warwickshire as they are an ambitious club and Edgbaston is a ground I've always enjoyed playing at.

I hope I can help the team with my experience and contribute to some wins, maybe even a trophy."

Head coach Mark Robinson, too, sounded pleased to bring Ali into the set-up.

"He'll play a major role for us in both the Championship and the T20 Blast with his stay running from the start of the season and ending at the end of July.

He's an established international bowler and a fantastic addition to our attack giving us something different to what we already have."

Ali has played 21 Tests, 60 ODIs, and 50 T20Is for Pakistan.
