English County Gloucestershire have signed Pakistan left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar on a two-year deal, tying him up till the end of the 2024 season.

Gohar has appeared for Gloucestershire on short term deals for the last two seasons and has been one of the most successful bowlers for them.

Last season, he was the leading wicket-taker for his side, with 47 scalps at an average of 28.

He also proved to be a useful lower-order batter, amasing 493 runs, at an average of 27.

Gohar ecstatic after contract signing

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bristol. There is a lot of talent in the group and I want to do my best to help the team achieve success, starting with promotion back to Division One nest season," Gohar said.

Gloucestershire were relegated to Division Two, not winning a game until September, but the 27-year-old was the lone bright spot for the side, at times almost carrying their attack.
