Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey has opened up about the friction between Justin Langer and Cricket Australia (CA), saying that the timing of the statement is perhaps not ideal and it might affect the performance of the players.

After winning the 2021-22 Ashes series comfortably, Langer stepped down from the post of the head coach and was replaced by Andrew McDonald.

Ahead of Australia's Test series against the visiting West Indies side, Langer has dropped a bombshell and has spoken out against Cricket Australia and Australian cricketers.

Following Langers' interview, Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley issued a stern warning stating that his remarks contain numerous inaccuracies.

Speaking to foxsports.com.au, Hussey stated that Langer is perhaps upset about exit from the side and hasn't moved on till date.

"The timing of it is probably not ideal. He's obviously still upset about how it went down, and maybe it could've been handled better from a Cricket Australia perspective," Hussey said.

He added: "My sense is that players have been pretty quiet on all of this. They've sorted moved on, they just want to move on. There's no point of making it a distraction for them. They can't afford to make it a distraction.

They are going to get asked about it, but they're just going to have to focus on their preparation for the Test."

The first Test between Australia and West Indies commences from November 30.
