Hardik Pandya's captaincy skills came into the limelight after the recent Indian Premier League as Gujarat Titans ended as the champions of the league. Later Hardik Pandya was given the opportunity to become the stand-in captain in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand.

Team India ended the series triumphant, although only one game ended with a clear result. The first match of the series was washed out, whereas the last ended in a tie as rain interrupted play.

Former India greats, Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar have commented on the state of Indian T20 cricket. Suggesting that Pandya should be the next T20I captain of India. Here is what Hardik said in reply

Hardik appreciates the support

"If people are saying it, it feels good (referring to Shastri and Gavaskar's captaincy comment),  but till something happens (official announcement), you can’t say,”

“To be honest, my thing is simple, if I do one match or one series, I will lead the team my way, how I see and perceive the game. Whenever I am given the opportunity, I will always go out and play the brand of cricket I know."

“As a unit, we will display my brand. As far as whatever (captaincy) comes in future, we will see."
