On Tuesday, India clinched the three-match T20I series against New Zealand by 1-0, as the final match was abandoned midway due to rain.

Despite the series win, the Indian think tank received backlash from all corners for benching talented players like Umran Malik and Sanju Samson throughout the series.

Notably, India excluded Samson in favour of Shreyas Iyer, who managed only 13 runs in two outings. When the match was in progress, former India seamer Dodda Ganesh took to his Twitter handle to scrutinise the team management for not giving Samson a single game in the series.

The Karnataka speedster accused the team of not changing their approach towards T20 cricket and not learning from their past mistakes.

Here's what Dodda Ganesh Tweeted

"By picking Iyer ahead of Samson the Indian think tank has reiterated that they’ll not learn from their mistakes and they shall never change their approach towards T20."

After India's painful semifinal-stage ouster from the T20 World Cup, the fans and experts had expected the management to test fresh legs against New Zealand as a part of their preparations for the next World Cup scheduled in 2024. Therefore, the team's decision to persist with players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shreyas Iyer didn't go well with the cricket fraternity.
