In an unfortunate turn of events, promising South African speedster Glenton Stuurman has been ruled out of the upcoming test series against Australia owing to injury.

Stuurman  is set to be out of action for six weeks after suffering an abdominal muscle strain against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins at St George’s Park in Gqeberha in the latest round of the CSA four-Day Domestic Series.

Cricket South Africa has named Lizaad Williams as Sturrman's replacement. In his brief Test career, Williams has scalped three wickets in two matches. The 29-year-old played his last Test against Bangladesh on home soil in April this year.

South Africa have suffered multiple injury setbacks ahead of their crucial tour of Australia. Earlier, top-order batter Keegan Petersen was excluded from the 16-member squad after developing a hamstring injury during the CSA T20 challenge.
