The leading wicket-taker in T20Is, Tim Southee produced a sensational last over and bagged his second hat-trick in the shortest format of the game. He achieved this feat against India in the 2nd T20I of the series on Sunday.

Given the context of the innings, New Zealand needed something special to restrict India under 200 and Southee bowled a magical last over to restrict India to 191 for 6.

It all started in the final over of the Indian innings. The visitors were well on the course to finish their innings on a high, but Southee decided to bring his A game on the floor. He took the wicket of Hardik Pandya on the third delivery of the over. It was a short of a length ball and he miscued his pull as Neesham took a blinder at long off.

The next batter to be dismissed was Deepak Hooda. He was looking to clear the in-field on the leg side, but another miscued shot led to his demise. Then came the historic moment as Southee bagged the wicket of Washington Sundar to achieve his hat-trick.

He bowled a slower length ball as Sundar went for a wild slog and was caught at long on. Eventually, India's momentum was halted by the 33-year-old pacer.
