Australia grabbed the series after a sensational performance against England in the 2nd ODI, beating them by a huge margin of 72 runs. Before the match, regular skipper Pat Cummins was rested and in his place, pacer Josh Hazlewood was elevated to his role.

After completing the victory, the stand-in skipper heaped praise on his side, thanking them for their effort making his job easier. He then asserted that 280 was a decent total and it was Marnus Labuschagne's innings that took the game forward.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old was quite impressed with Steve Smith, calling him 'classy' and a joy to the eye.

"Yes, it was thanks to the players around me. We bowled well and the partnership there almost took it away and then we got wickets to bring the game back in our favour of us. I was happy with 280. Marnus showed intent and that partnership helped us a lot.

"I was seeing around whom to bring in and the boys made me look great out there. Yes, I think we can play together, and let's see how the weather holds up in Melbourne. Obviously lot of rain is around there. Smithy was classy and his knock is a treat to watch. Looking forward to Melbourne."

Australia will next face England in the 3rd ODI at Melbourne on 22nd November.
