In a significant turn of events, promising Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has pulled out of the remainder of the England ODIs.
Notably, Green, who bowled seven overs and scored 20 runs in the first ODI, developed soreness after the game's conclusion. So, he has been sent back to rehabilitate and prepare for the West Indies Tests starting on November 30, with keeper-batter Josh Inglis replacing him in the ODI squad.
For information, Inglis is also making his comeback after recovering from a freak injury that ruled him out of the T20 World Cup on home soil.
Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has replaced Green in the Australian team for the ongoing second ODI in Sydney. Further, Josh Hazlewood is captaining the team, as regular skipper Pat Cummins has been rested for the match.
Regarding the game, Australia have posted a challenging total of 280 runs, courtesy of fabulous half-centuries from Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Marsh. Considering the two-paced nature of the deck, it will need a monumental effort from England to chase the target against Australia's formidable bowling unit.
