In a significant development, former Delhi batter Unmukt Chand has registered his name for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League 2023 draft. Chand, who led India U19 to the title in the 2012 World Cup, is reportedly the only Indian on the list of 350 overseas players in the BPL draft.

Speaking to the BDcrictime, Chand revealed his wish to participate in T20 leagues around the globe. Addressing the BPL as one of the grandest leagues in the world, Chand expressed his eagerness to participate in the highly competitive tournament.

Here's what Chand said

"I have played in Dhaka before and I enjoyed it thoroughly. After coming to the USA, I have a chance to play any league around the world. Last year I played in the Big Bash League. Now, I am eager to play in the Bangladesh Premier League and have registered for the draft. I want to play well no matter which team I play for,

"I have an idea about playing conditions in Bangladesh. I am always amazed by the BPL and it’s one of the biggest leagues in the world. A number of big players have taken part in the tournament in the past. There’s no doubt that it’s one of the top tournaments on the globe."

While he was a part of the Indian setup, Chand could not participate in overseas T20 leagues due to the restrictions set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, after retiring from Indian cricket, Chand represented the Melbourne Renegades in the previous edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).
