Australia's ODI and Test skipper, Pat Cummins has stated while he would love to have Cameron Green focus all his energy on playing for the national team, he would not stop the young all-rounder to compete in the Indian Premier League.

Green has been a hot topic in the cricketing world and his exploits have reached the shores of India as well. The 23-year-old had a stellar tour of India prior to the T20 World Cup. He smashed 2 half-centuries in the T20I series and had a strike-rate of 214.54.

As a result, all eyes will be on Green when the IPL auction takes place on December 23. His power-hitting, along with his genuine pace with the ball will surely attract a lot of bidders if he decides to put forward his name for the auction.

Now Cummins has come forward and has given his views on Green's participation in the IPL.

"Yeah, potentially (Green will give his name for the IPL auction). We'll wait and see, I think the auction is little while away," Cummins told SEN Radio.

He further added: "Selfishly as a captain, I'd love Green to save all his energy for Australia. But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?."

Australia have a packed 2023 schedule, which involves 4-match Test series against India (February-March), Ashes in England (June 16 to July 31), and the 50-over World Cup in (October-November).
