The mini-auction for IPL 2023 is scheduled to take place on the 23rd of December, 2022. This has been the stage for unexplored talents to get themselves placed in one of the franchises and then get noted with their performances in one of the biggest platforms in world cricket.
They Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has been one of the talent hunting grounds for IPL scouts to look for players who could fit in the squads of their franchises.
Among many top performers in SMAT 2022, Shivam Chaudhary has been one of them. He was seen opening for Railways during the tournament and played some important knocks.
In the tournament, the 25-year-old opener scored 306 runs in 7 innings. His average in the tournament was 51.00, while scoring at a strike rate of 123.89.

His notable performances in the tournament were against Rajasthan (70 off 55), Assam (62 off 53) and Vidarbha (84* off 58). Besides these three notable knocks he also played short but impactful knocks for his team.
Where will Shivam Chaudhary be a fit?
The franchises that are looking for an Indian opener, specially a budget pick, might look to pick up Shivam Chaudhary.
