Big auction coming up: Jos Buttler sledges Cameron Green on stump mic

England skipper Jos Buttler took a dig at Australia all-rounder Cameron Green by using IPL 2023 auction as a reference during the first ODI fixture on Thursday.

Green is slated to enter his first-ever IPL auction in December, in his bid to gain exposure in the T20 franchise cricket. According to the cricket fraternity, many teams might break their banks to secure the services of Green, due to his all-around abilities.

The 23-year-old emerged as the top run-scorer in the bilateral T20I series against India with 118 runs in three innings at a lavish strike rate of 214.54.

However, Green's recent form has been rather unimpressive with 19 runs in his last four T20I innings. With struggles with the bat, Buttler pulled Green's legs while he was still trying to set himself at the crease.

In the 41st over of Australia's innings, Green charged and tried to hit a long ball off Dawson but could not time it well.

Then, Green followed it up with a defense, which certainly miffed Buttler. In response, England skipper said, "Big auction coming up" to tease Green for his big day next month.

In the end, Green remained unbeaten on 20*, while Steve Smith scored 80* to seal the chase of 288 in the first ODI against England.

The second fixture of the ODI series between arch-rivals will be played on Saturday (November 19) in SCG.
