The IPL teams have gave out their final list of the retention lists on the 15th of November, 2022.  Now the teams will be gearing up for the mini-auction for the next season scheduled on the 23rd of December, 2022.

We have seen in the auctions for IPL that the Indian players often become overnight stars. They are often scouted by the franchises unnoticed by the world and a sudden high priced bid earns them the limelight.

One of the talent hunting grounds for the scouts of the different franchises is the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 league of India. So, in this section we will take a look at the performances of the players in the tournament and try and find some names that might earn some big bucks in the upcoming auction.

Samarth Vyas, Saurashtra's explosive number 3

In the recently concluded edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy Vyas batted in 7 innings. He scored 314 runs in them at an average of 52.33 and a strike rate of 177.40. He acted as the dynamic factor in the Saurashtra batting order during the tournament.

Vyas scored played an explosive 97 runs knock from 52 deliveries against Baroda in the Saurashtra's first match of the tournament. He played this inning coming at number 3 while chasing 176 runs. In the very next match he followed it up with another 97 runs knock off 51 deliveries against Nagaland while batting first and helping his team to a huge total of 203 runs in 20 overs.

Besides, his performances in the SMAT, Vyas has done well in the Ranji Trophy this season. Even in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy he is the current highest run scorer with 286 runs from 3 innings. Vyas's average in the tournament is 95.33 and his strike rate is 133.64.  He has grabbed a double hundred in the 50 overs format against Manipur.

Samarth is surely drawing some attention to himself with his ability to score big, on a consistent basis and at a very quick rate. Being an Indian top order batter, Vyas will be in high demand during the mini-auction.

Teams that will target Vyas- Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders.
